ACLC launches TeknoPinoy 2012

During this year’teknopinoys Kalilangan Festival, ACLC launches the TeknoPinoy 2012. This outreach program is in partnership with DepEd, TESDA, DTI, Globe Telecom and the local government of Gensan.

TeknoPinoy aims:

(1) to increase awareness on the rising demand for world-class skills,

(2) to transfer skills in animation, web development and multimedia broadcasting and

(3) to discover potential talents that can be further developed into globally competitive transcribers, animators, web developers and broadcast journalists.

This year TechnoPinoy aims to reach at least 10,000 students of ten beneficiary schools in SOCSARGEN.

CAMPUS TECH TALKS.  A demo-training on graphics, animation and multimedia editing targeting at least 10,000 youth in schools and barangays. In this project, skilled ACLC students transfer their acquared skills by demonstrating them to the beneficiary students.

This year four topics will be introduced to the TechnoPinoy participants: Photo Manipulation, 2D Animation: Character Sketch, 2D Animation: Animating Objects and Video Editing and Visual Effects. The demo-training will hopefully inspire the young students to hone their creative talents and skills towards global standards.

QUEST FOR YOUNG ANIMATORS. This event aims to discover at least 10 talented artists per school whose entries will compete in an inter-school level.

The top 10 winners in the interschool event will be awarded 50-100% scholarships in Visual Graphics NCIII or 2D & 3D Animation NCIII The. To be a major global player in animation, SOCSARGEN must be able to produce at least 300 skilled 2D/3D animators within the next five years. This project will hopefully help fill up the supply gap.
